International Day

Friday, February 24th is International Day at Montessori The Place To Grow!   Each class will be

transformed into a country of the world and set-up for you to explore. On this day

parents and extended family members are welcome to come to the school in the afternoon from 3-4 p.m.,  and ‘take a tour’ of the different countries. The students and teachers work hard to make this day fun for everyone. Please see your

child’s teacher if you would like more information about this event or if you are able to lend some interesting artifacts related to the chosen countries. We look forward to having you join us on this day! The names of the countries will be divulged soon !

100thDay!

Tuesday, February 7th is the 100th day of school. Special activities will be taking place in each of the classrooms.  The teachers have asked that each child bring 100 of something to count on this day (e.g. pennies, cheerios, popcorn kernels etc.).

Needed…

We would greatly appreciate a donation of a box of Kleenex from each student. This is the time of year for runny noses and sneezing and we go through A LOT of tissues in a day. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

A Note From The Toddler Classroom

We have a lot of fun things going on in the classroom this month.  Please check your calendar so you don’t miss out on anything! We will be observing the statutory holiday on Monday, February 20th.  Enjoy Family Day!

A Note From The Casa Classrooms

Our classes will be very busy during this month. We have many exciting activities planned for the children. We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Wednesday, February 9th. We will be playing fun games and making some cool crafts in the classroom.

We look forward to welcoming Miss Collette from Shakti Yoga back again this month. Yoga will be the morning of Friday, February 10th. All Casa children are invited to attend these sessions, whether or not it is your child’s scheduled day.

The Casa classes will be learning about various countries and cultures this month, for International Day on February 25th. We welcome any souvenirs or interesting artifacts that you may be able to lend us for the event.

With winter upon us (off and on) the children have become quite busy outside at recess.  If you would like to bring a sled from home to be left at the school for the remainder of the season that would be great.  We ask that all items be clearly labeled.  There is storage available in the shed so that the children can access their sleds on snowy days.  It would be much simpler if all sleds could be left here, but this is sometimes difficult for the children to understand.  The teachers appreciate your cooperation and encourage parents to explain this system to the children before any items are brought to school.

“May Winter wrap a warm blanket around your spirit”.
